Positive Frame of Mind
A positive frame of mind makes most of the difference between being sad and being happy. It is true, that sometimes life gets very difficult to deal with, but it is also true that it is unavoidable. We all go through ups and downs, in fact, without the downs, would we really be able to appreciate the ups as much? Understanding that one cannot exist without the other is what we all struggle with.
Imagine a pair of glasses that does not match your prescription. When you walk around wearing the wrong glasses, you will not be able to see the world clearly and fall and hurt yourself. Only the right number lenses will help you see the world properly and navigate it easily. The same applies to your mind. When you are in the wrong frame of mind, everything seems bad, and there is no hope. When you are in a positive frame of mind, even the worst problems in life seem little.
Making a positive change to your perspective should be a part of your daily routine. The reason you need to do this everyday is because every day is a new day and you are just as susceptible to negativity as you were yesterday.
Positivity in life is important, but it is not that easy to consistently incorporate that into your life. That is where motivation activities come in:
⦁ Listening to music you like
⦁ Watching inspirational movies
⦁ Setting goals and aims
⦁ Making a vision board
⦁ Working on your goals and aims
⦁ Books or podcasts that inspire you
⦁ Reward yourself!
All of these activities are excellent sources of motivation and inspiration when you are in need of some. Listening to your favourite music is always a good start to the day as it gets you in the mood to do things. Watching inspirational videos and movies is another quick trick to feel energized to make positive changes in your life.
A less used, but very effective, technique is making a vision board. A vision board comprises of images and text that details your vision for your future, be it professionally or personally, or both. Making a vision board helps you visualize and remember daily what it is that motivates you the most. Making a list of one’s goals is just as effective, if that motivates you better.
Reading self-help books or autobiographies of inspiring people can also help in personal growth and motivation. Nowadays, you do not even need to read as much, as audiobooks are just as effective. Similarly, podcasts from people that inspire you or are about inspiring topics can help set you in the right direction.
And lastly, reward yourself! It is easy to forget to appreciate yourself for all the good you do. We find it a lot easier to appreciate the good in others, but when it comes to ourselves, we get caught up in all the negative things we think about ourselves. This can be countered by rewarding one’s self on achieving goals.
Consistency is Key
No matter what path you chose, to really live the day to the fullest, consistency is the most important thing. Only then can you actually live every day to the fullest, if you consider everyday as a new day and recharge yourself diligently. Successful people are often found to be crediting their success to consistently pursuing positive changes in their lives.
Don’t Just Be Positive, Stay Positive!
So, once you have been able to put yourself in a positive frame of thinking, the next step is to stay there, and get there consistently every time something brings you down. And nothing can do that for you, it has to come from within, the desire to be happy. The passion for positivity is something that can be practiced over time, but the motivation to do it is something you must find within yourself. If you are reading this, then one thing is clear, that you do want to change something in your life.
Let today be the day when you turn things around! Yes, there might have been several such days in your life, but that does not mean that this time can’t be the last one! It is all about your commitment to living life to the fullest! Use the techniques shown above to practice your way of positivity and see your life change in front of your very eyes!
